Special Constabulary long service medal

Description: An Elizabeth II issue Special Constabulary long service medal. Impressed around rim to 'William A. Owen.'
William Owen lived at 15 Barrule Drive Onchan. A police special constable for many years (retired 1960s?) he loved the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy (TT) races and would always be on duty at Signpost Corner - he never missed a year.
The medal may be awarded to Special Constables who are recommended by the Chief Officer of Police of the department in which they serve so long as they have served for at least nine years, and willingly and competently discharged their duty as a Special Constable.
