Tried to enlist but rejected for teeth. Joined I.O.M. Volunteers Then 16 K.L.R. (King's Liverpool Regiment) Reported June 14. Hoylake and then to near Rhyl Aug. (13). Dec. at Bidston Camp Nov. 1916 A Co. 2 Cheshire R. Salonika Nov. 1917 as before. Died of pneumonia in France. Oct. 17. 1918.'
