Flying Officer Wallace was the Navigator of Handley-Page Halifax LW115 and was killed in the explosion and ensuing crash over Laxey on 17th July 1944. He is buried at Astley Bridge Cemetery, Bolton (Wallace was British born and emigrated to Canada at a young age. He later became a naturalised Canadian).
