Biography: Age 19, Michael Bancroft is a motor cycle mechanic and comes from Horsforth, Leeds. He has had experience of trials and scrambles, and has already ridden in various short circuit races, and in the A.C.U. Clubman's race at Oulton Park. Last year was his first "Manx"; he rode an A.J.S, in the junior race, but had to retire on the fifth lap. (TT Special, 5 September 1961, p.8)
