David James Beckett

Biography: Age 24, David James Beckett is a farmer, and comes from Solihull, Warwickshire. He has had experience of short circuit racing, having been placed within the first three at Castle Combe, Crystal Palace, Kirkby Mallory and Thruxton. His B.S.A. for last year's Junior T.T.- his first - was a considerably lightened Gold Star with many detail modifications and with it he came home 47th at 81.34 m.p.h., winning a Bronze replica. Last April, also on his B.S.A., he was second in the 350 c.c. non-experts race at Castle Combe. (TT Special, 13 June 1960, p.8.)
