Biography: Mount: 125 class – Montesa
Age 23, J. Soler-Bulto is a technical director of an Automotive Castings factory in Barcelona, Spain. He has always ridden Montesa machines, his uncle, F. X. Bulto, being the designer, and in 1948 and 1950 he won the 125 c.c. Spanish Championship. He won the 1949 International Barcelona Grand Prix, 125 c.c. class, and was fifth in the same event In 1951, when there was much stronger opposition.
Hobbies: Ski-ing and mountaineering.
The latest “works” Montesa, which he is riding, develops approximately 11.5 b.h.p. at 9,500 r.p.m., and has a forged piston, needle roller big-end, three-speed gearbox, telescopic front forks with hydraulic damping, and plunger-type rear suspension: it weighs approximately 110 lbs.
