Biography: Age 28, Dick Carman is a borer from Dagenham, Essex. He began racing in 1953 and has since ridden at Brand's Hatch, Snetterton, Ibsley, Castle Combe, Blandford, Silverstone, Thruxton and Kirkby Mallory. This is his sixth Manx Grand Prix, and the machine he will be riding is a standard 1954 7R model. He was 22nd in the Junior Manx in 1955 and 29th in the Senior. In 1956 he was just outside the replica time, finishing 18th in the Senior, but in 1957 he was 15th in the Junior at 82.37mph and won a replica. Last year he collected two more for 14th in the Junior and 13th in the Senior - both on his 350 7R. Hobby: Small-bore rifle shooting.
