Record type: Motorsport Biographies
Biography: 125 c.c. - M.V. Augusta
Age 33, Alfredo Copeta comes from Varese in Northern Italy, a town well-known to competitors in last September’s International Six Day’s Trial. He is employed by the M.V. company, and describes himself as a “Callaudatore” – which turns out to mean “Works Tester”.
He specialises in the Ultra Lightweight class, and in particular the Italian sport of scooter racing, in which he was the 1951 Champion. In addition he has great success with the racing M.V. machines, and finished last season as runner-up to the Italian Champion in this class.
His hobbies include football and swimming, but principally “motor-cycling.”
The machine he is to ride is entered by the M.V. company, and is an O.H.C. “double-knocker” similar to the one ridden by Les Graham.
