Biography: Age 25, John Farrar is an engineer draughtsman from Golborrne, near Warrington, Lancs. This is his fifth year of racing and he has competed at various short circuit meetings such as Aintree, Oulton Park, Rhydymwyn and Silverstone. He rode a Norton-Velocette in the 1958 350 c.c. Snaefell race —a hybrid with a KTT Velocette engine and gearbox fitted into a Norton Featherbed frame — but unfortunately retired at the Guthrie Memorial. In 1959 He rode a 350 c.c Velocette in the Senior Manx, and finished 59th, but last year, in the Junior race, he had to retire on the third lap. His machine is a 1955 Gold Star model, ex-Derek Williams. (TT Special, 5 September 1961, p.11)
