Age 34, Walter Hancook rode in the 1951 Senior Clubman’s T.T. and finished 36th. He has experienced short circuit racing at Rhydymwyn, Altcar, Antsy, and Thruxton. Walter is a motor-cycle fitter from Birkenhead.

In 1952 he rode a Velocette in the Junior T.T., but retired on the third lap. Last year his was even further out for he retired on the second lap.

His first Isle of Man race was the 1951 Senior Clubman’s, in which he finished 36th; next year he turned to the T.T., riding a Velocette in the Junior race but retiring on the third lap. He rose in the same event in 1953 and ’54, but with even worse luck, retiring on the second lap in each case.

Another retirement followed in the 1955 Junior, but he beat the hoodoo at last by finishing 45th in the Senior race.

In the 1956 Junior, he retired again but he completed the course in the Senior, finishing 40th at 78.01 m.p.h.
