Biography: Junior – Norton
Age 24, Alexander (“Sandy”) Hislop is a joiner and comes from Hawick, Scotland – home town of Jimmy Guthrie. He started racing in June, 1957, and has ridden at Charterhall, Errol and Kirkcaldy. In the 1958 350 c.c. Snaefell race, he finished 13th at 78.52 m.p.h. and gained a ride in the Junior Manx; in this event, however, he was unlucky enough to crash at Windy Corner on the second lap.
Last year he was 31st in the Junior at 82.54 m.p.h. winning a replica.
His machine is a 1955 Manx Norton ex Rae Graham which, he says, has never failed to win a replica.
Hobby: Swimming.
