Age 19, Jack Horne is a motorcycle mechanic and comes from Ferth, Scotland.
He won the 1951 Scottish Featherweight Championship, and was runner-up in 1952. His machine for the 1953 Lightweight T.T. was originally the blue Rudge raced in the Island for many years by his father, A. G. Horne, brought up to date with a duplex frame, all-alloy engine, AL-FIN hubs, alloy tanks, A.M.C. forks and swinging arm rear suspension with Woodhead Monroe units, etc. He finished in 15th place, averaging 68.12 m.p.h.
