Age 48; "Independent (more or less)"; comes from Rugby; really one of the old school, having ridden in grass track races as far back as 1922. Hobbies, gardening, rifle shooting and flying; has owned 103 motor-cycles since 1916 and says "there is no fun like motor-cycling"; rode a 1,000 c.c. Ariel in last year's Clubman's but "cast himself off at Keppel on the first lap due to lack of experience and over-exuberance." Machine: 1949 1,000 c.c. Ariel.
