Biography: Age 24, Bernard Hunter from Wythenshawe, Manchester is a radio and TV engineer. He has been seen a lot around the short circuits on a much-doctored 250 cc Excelsior Manxman, which in the last few meetings has produced four 'placings' including a second at Oulton Park. He was a newcomer in the 1956 Manx when he finished 48th in the Junior on a Velocette. He entered the same machine for both last year's Manx races, but retired on the second lap of the Junior and was a non-starter in the Senior. For a hobby, he "burns the midnight oil, looking for Joe Craig's magic wand!"
