Age 22, Eric Jones, a plumber in civilian life, comes from Wythenshawe, Manchester. Recently serving with the Manchester Regt. In Malaya, Eric only came back to this country at the end of May, coming straight over to the Island on his arrival in order to begin practicing.
He finished tenth in the 1952 Junior Clubman’s T.T., on a B.S.A., and collected a replica for 19th place in the 1952 Senior M.G.P., in which he rode a Triumph. In addition, he was awarded the Red Rose Challenge for the fastest time of the day at Altcar, and gained other successes at Brough in 1951 and 1952.
His entrant for this year’s races is Reg Dearden of Manchester.
