Biography: Mount: Lightweight – Excelsior
Age 43, a motor mechanic, from Edinburgh, McCredie has competed in many hill climbs and sand events in Scotland, and in road races in Ireland, with considerable success. Was fourth in the 1938 North-West “200” and third in the same event in 1947 (Senior). First rode in the T.T. in 1939, when he finished thirteenth in the Lightweight, in replica time; rode in the same class of the Ulster, same year, making fastest Lightweight lap and finishing 15 seconds behind the third man.
Came back to the Island again for the 1947 Lightweight T.T. riding an Excelsior Manxman, but retired on the second lap. In 1948, he was sixth in the Lightweight T.T. at 64.98 m.p.h. and second in the 250 class of the Ulster Grand Prix at 65.52 m.p.h. riding an Excelsior in each event.
In 1949 and 1950 he was again in the Lightweight T.T. on an Excelsior. In 1949 he was thirteenth at 65.39, but in 1950 he retired after completing two laps.
Hobby: Gardening.
He is his own entrant for the Lightweight race.
