Biography: Age 59, Fritz Muhleman is a motorcycle mechanic from Berne, Switzerland and is a real veteran of the circuits, as far back as 1937 he was Swiss sidecar champion and he retained the title in 1938 and 1939. Since the war he has appeared at Francorchamps, Monza, Mulhausen and Genoa, and in the Swiss Grand Prix. This is his fourth trip to the Isle of Man, his first being in 1955 when he brought his BSA into tenth place.
In 1956 he was flagged off after eight laps of the Clypse Sidecar TT owing to expiring of the race time limit, and last year he had bad luck again, retiring in the third lap of the sidecar race.
