Age 46, H.P. Muller is one of Germany's oldest racing men - but still one of the most successful. He comes from Bielefeld and is known to spectators throughout the Continent as 'The Tiger'.
With the advantage of an all-round technical education he treats racing as a science, and his log-book covers every European circuit, with graphs, diagrams, tables and technical data specially drawn up for each course. Muller finds that the keeping of such records is of the utmost value, and impressive total of 191 victories it is one of the secrets behind his [ ].
This record includes six German championships, second place in the 500 c.c. class of the Europeans championships and also second place in the European championship for Grand Prix racing cars.
Muller's car victories were obtained as a driver for the Auto-Union team, but in the two-wheeler field he has ridden D.K.W. Victoria and B.M.W. machines.
Last year on his first visit to the Isle of Man, he rode for the N.S.U. factory in the Lightweight and the 125 c.c. events. He was fourth in the former event at 88.87 mph (Silver Replica) but retired on the third lap of the 125 c.c. race.
