Biography: Mounts: Junior – Norton.
Senior – Norton

Age 42, Tony [sic] Norris, a Birmingham motor engineer, has been a regular Manx Grand Prix rider.

In 1948 he was 24th in the Senior race, and the following year he finished 18th in the same event, after running out of petrol at Governor’s on the last lap, and 15th in the Junior. He retired in both the Junior and Senior races in 1950 when holding eighth and ninth places, but in 1951 he was twelfth in the 500 c.c. race after two stops for adjustments.

In 1952 he rode a Norton in the Senior T.T. and finished 20th at 83.81 m.p.h., winning a bronze replica, and a year later brought his F.A.N.-Norton Special into 12th place in the Senior at 84.92 m.p.h., moving up into the Silver Replica class.

In 1954 the “Special” was again entered for the Senior race, but retired on the third lap. IN the Junior race, however, Tony was A.J.S.-mounted and finished 43rd.

Last year he was 47th, on a Norton, in the Senior T.T. He is entered for this year’s races by sidecar racer Cyril Smith.
(TT Special, 8 June 1956, p.6.)

His name is given as F.A. Norris in the TT Special, 8 June 1956, p.6 which could be the reason he's referred to as 'Tony' if his middle name was Anthony.
