Biography: Junior - Velocette
Describes his age as “18 Plus”, a fitter M.T. of Bury, Lancs. First rode in the T.T. in 1929, and was at it again in last year’s Clubman’s event, when he said the piston had a look at the valves on the third lap at Ramsey. Has had a bagful of first, second and third prizes on sand and grass, and won the “Big Cup” in the 1933 Ulster Grand Prix.
The Junior race marks his first run on a Velocette, his model being a rigid-framed machine of 1938 manufacture. He says, “the gent who took all my good cash off me is going to the Isle of Man with me, and if it packs up will swim all the way back.”
Hobby – Looking for a good job (with motor-cycles).
