Biography: Junior – A.J.S.
Age 28, Harry Rayner is a lathe turner, and comes from Bridgwater, Somerset. He started racing in 1956 on a Gold Star and in 1957 changed to an ex-Denis Parkinson Norton, on which he was second in the “mugs’ race” at Brands Hatch.
In 1958 Harry acquired his present machine, 1955 7R, ex-Arthur Wheeler, and won his first race on it at Brands Hatch, with a second and third later in the season. In 1959 he was second in the 350 c.c. class of the Thruxton 500 miles race on a borrowed Gold Star. ln the Junior Manx he finished 54th. This year he was second in the Junior final at Thruxton on Easter Monday.
Hobbies: Swimming and traditional jazz.
