Record type: Motorsport Biographies
Biography: Age 24, Paul Slade comes from Watford, Herts., and is engaged in the printing trade as a gravure planner. He had two seasons of trials riding with an ex-works 500 c.c. Triumph Trophy, and then turned his attention to Moto-Ball—but after one or two games he decided "not for me." After this he took up racing with a 1957 B.S.A. Gold Star. built for him by Eddie Dow, and two seasons with this gave him many places within the first dozen. Early this year Paul acquired his present machine, a 1959 7R, which was ridden into 26th place of that year's Junior T.T. by Howard German. He writes: "This machine has helped me into every final at every meeting this season—only retirement a broken primary chain in the Oulton Park Clubman's Trophy races." Hobby: Photography.
