Biography: Age 25, Frederick James Stevens comes from Formby, Lancs. This is his fifth season of road racing and he has competed at most of the short circuits up and down the country, with various heat wins and places in finals. For the 1957 and '58 seasons his machine was a 350 c.c. Gold Star.
He rode a 350 Ajay in both Junior and Senior T.T. races in 1959, coming home 39th in the Junior with a bronze replica, and 19th in the Senior, with a finisher's award. He ended the season by running second to Eric Hinton in the Solo Invitation "Aintree Century" race.
Last year he rode Nortons in Junior and Senior T.T. races and finished in the "early twenties" in both of them - - 23rd in the Junior and 21st in the Senior, with a couple of Silver Replicas. At the Silverstone. "Hutchinson 100" meeting last April he won the 500 c.c. Non-Experts race, and was second in the similar nice for 350 c.c. models. He is entered for both T.T. races by G. E.
