Biography: Mount: Sidecar – Norton

Age 42, a machine tool manufacturer from Barnt Green, Worcs, Len Taylor began his sidecar racing before the war, and is the present holder of the Donington Park sidecar lap record.

In recent years he has been prominent on the Continent, and in 1952 he was third in the French Grand Prix, 11th in the “Belgian” sixth in the Grand Prix des Nations and fifth at Avignon. He was fifth in the 1953 Grand Prix des Nations. Len took part in the 1954 Sidecar T.T., and finished tenth to claim a bronze replica.

This is his 23rd season since he began racing. He has always used a Norton, except for his first season, in which he rode a Sunbeam. Last year Len raced at many of the short circuits, including Oulton Park, Ibsley, Brough, Brand’s Hatch, and Snetterton.

Passenger to Taylor is Peter Glover, who has been with him since 1952, but who has also passengered Eric Oliver for a period.

This is his 22nd season since he began racing, he has always used a Norton except fro his first season, in which he rode a Sunbeam. This season he has produced a beautifully streamlined outfit, one of the prettiest machines in the race.
