Chris Vincent

Record type: Motorsport Biographies

Biography: Age 26, Chris Vincent is a motor cycle tester, and comes from Alum Rock, Birmingham. Last year's Sidecar race was his first T.T., but he had a lot of experience on short circuits, with "firsts" at Brands Hatch, Cadwell, Mallory, Oulton, and Thruxton, whilst in 1958 he was National Grass Track Champion.

His machine which he built himself, had motor cycle frame and sidecar chassis integral; it had rubber rear suspension and link front forks, and was powered by a B.S.A. twin cylinder engine through a B.S.A. gearbox. He certainly showed that it could go, for on the first lap he was fifth —the first British machine behind four B.M-W.'s; unfortunately. however, he had to retire next lap.

He is very much on form this year, having already won eight or more races at Brand's Hatch, Mallory Park, Silverstone and Snetterton.

Chris is entered by Watsonian Sidecars Ltd.; his hobby is car rally driving. (TT Special, 16 June 1961, p19)
