Record type: Motorsport Biographies
Biography: As well as competing in the TT races in 1932 (finishing 16th) and 1934 (DNF) Paddy Walls (1906-2001) raced extensively in his native Ulster in the late 1920s and early 1930s and included wins in the Cookstown 100 (first 100 mile race in Cookstown) in 1930, Knock Motor Cycle Club 1931, Lisburn & District Motor Cycle Club Scratch Cup at the Maze Grass Track in 1931 and 1932, and winning the Northwest 200 500cc Handicap Race in 1932 (second in the Scratch Race to Ernie Nott, the Rudge Team Rider). (Biography supplied by son Aidan Walls, January 2020.)
P.J. Walls (Rudge Whitworth), made his first official appearance on the course this morning. While walking about the paddock, he was noticed to be limping and his right hand was bandaged. It appeared that he had had a toss while touring round the course on Sunday, and the sequel was that he was brought before Dr Lionel Woods this morning before he was allowed to start.
