Biography: Age 27, Derek Wilkinson is an electrician, and comes from Nelson, Lancs. He is no newcomer to the Island, but he has been placed at most mainland short circuits, with successes on Scottish circuits such as Charterhall and Kirkcaldy.

Derek has been a motorcycle enthusiast for over ten years, but it is only recently that he has been able to take up racing. Last year he rode a home-tuned 175 c.c. Ducati in 250 c.c. and occasional 200 c.c. races, but for this year's events he has acquired a rather special 5-speed 125 c.c. model, previously owned by Alberto Pagani. He is entered by Motor Sales (Nelson) Ltd. (TT Special, 16 June 1961, p19).
