Vic Willoughby
Record type: Motorsport Biographies
Biography: Senior - Triumph
Junior - Velocette
Age 32, he declares his occupation as “Fitter.” Have now quit work to try and live by racing – so maybe I should be classed as a “Spiv!” Home. Lower Edmonton, London, N9.
Willoughby has had several successes at Brooklands pre-war and competed in various road events in 1946, winning the 350 class of the Ulster Road Race. In this event he also made the fastest lap and won the Governor’s (Handicap) Trophy. Was out of action last year owing to a broken leg and now is hoping for better luck.
His Velo is a 1939 Mark 8 KTT which he purchased on two years H.P. at 15s per week. He says that “it seems to go OK in spite of my own tuning.” His mount for the Senior race, which he is entered by H. S. Marsden, is one of the new Tiger 100 Grand Prix Triumph’s.
