Record type: Motorsport Biographies
Biography: Mount: Senior – B.M.W.
Age 28, Walter Zeller from Munich, Germany, is riding in his second Senior T.T., his first being in 1953 when he rode a petrol-injection “works” B.M.W.
Walter began his racing career in 1949, and by 1951 he had become the German road-race champion; he joined the B.M.W. factory team and his successes for the firm included wins at Schotten and Grenzlandring. An accomplished trials rider, he has represented B.M.W. in the International Six Days’ Trial, and in 1953 he was chosen as a member of the German Trophy team, unfortunately retiring after breaking the propeller shaft of his machine.
Since the B.M.W. factory gave up active racing Zeller has ridden as a private entry, with quite good results.
