Biography: Age 29, William Robert Anderson is a garage proprietor, and comes from Hale, Cheshire. He first rode in the Manx Grand Prix in 1954, when he was 39th, on a Norton, in the Junior race; he had previously ridden in the 1952 Clubman's TT. He has competed in trials since 1950 and has raced over most of the British Short Circuits. In the 1955 Manx he finished 13th in the Senior, but retired in the Junior. He was 'absent from the Manx' in 1956, but in 1957 he was back again - and finished 24th in both Junior and Senior races, collecting a replica in the former. He was also a member of the Southern (IoM) team which won the Club Team Prize in the Junior race.
