Colin Appleyard

Biography: Age 23, Colin Appleyard comes from Guiseley, near Leeds, and is a motor cycle salesman. He has ridden at Brough. Scarborough, Aintree, Alton Towers and Esholt and has also taken part in the Munster 100, gaining plenty of enjoyment but not a great deal of success. The 1956 Manx was his first visit to the Island, but he had the misfortune to retire on the second lap of the Senior. He entered for both 1957 Manx races but did not start in either. He finished 51st in last year's Senior Manx, with clutch slip all through the race. His machine is a 1953 model, ex-Bill Bancroft.
