Age 35, Douglas Beasley, a motor engineer from Coventry, has raced at Donnington and Cadwell Park, among other short circuits since 1938. He rode Excelsior’s in the 1946 and ’47 Lightweight Grand Prix Races, finishing fifteenth on both occasions. He turned to the T.T. in 1948 and was third in the Lightweight, averaging 67.68 m.p.h. on an Excelsior. He suffered retirement in the Lightweight races of the two following T.T.’s.

He is entered by D. Beasley Motor-Cycles of Coventry.
