Age 27, George Niccol Begg is a New Zealander making his first appearance in the T.T. series –but not his first on the Island, for he was one of three fellow-countrymen in last September’s Manx Grand Prix, riding the same A.J.S. in both races, he was 28th in the Junior Manx and 25th in the Senior.
He is an engineer with experience of both grass-track and road racing in his homeland. Before crossing to the Island this year he took part in some of the British short-circuit races and was third in the 250 cc race at Brand’s Hatch.
