Biography: Age 28, Roy Blanning is a dictaphone mechanic and comes from Bristol. He has competed at many short circuit meetings, including Blandford, Brand's Hatch, Castle Combe, Crystal Palace, Kirkby Mallory, Snetterton and Thruxton, his best place so far being third in a non-experts race at Castle Combe. Roy rode in last year's 350 cc. Newcomer's race, finishing 20th on his BSA and qualifiying for a ride in the Junior Manx, in which, unluckily, he retired at Laurel Bank with "defective steering."
