Senior – Norton
Age 22, Bernard Codd is a farmer and comes from Wrangle, Nr. Boston, Lincs. He came into the limelight in June last year, when, B.S.A. mounted, he “did the double” in the Clubman’s by winning both Junior and Senior events.
He then turned to the Manx and on a Norton, was fourth in the Junior race at 86.18 m.p.h.; in the Senior race, however, he retired after lying fifth on the third lap.
Bernard is well-known, too, on successes at Brough, Cadwell, Kirkby Mallory and Snetterton. In addition he is a first-class trials rider, as is shown by the fact that since 1952 he has won fifty trials in Lincolnshire.
His Nortons for this year’s races are 1957 models, and he is entered by Hallens of Cambridge.
Hobbies: Table tennis and lawn tennis.
