Biography: Age 26, Eddie Crooks, who comes from Douglas, Isle of Man, is manager of a motorcycle business at Barrow in Furness. He has a first class record, not only as a road racer, but also as a trials and scrambles rider; was Royal Artillery trials champion in 1953, won a first class award in the 1952 Scottish Six Days Trial and a gold medal in the 1954 ISDT in Wales. In the racing field he will be remembered as co-winner, with Eddie Dow, of the 1955 Thruxton Nine Hours Race. He was second in the 1953 Senior Clubman's and has been well-placed in every MGP (Senior and Junior) since 1953, his 1955 record listing fifth place in the Junior Manx and sixth in the North West 200. In 1956 he was second in the Junior Manx and fifth in the Senior and last year he was seventh in the Senior at 88.41 mph.
