Biography: Age 25, a threshing machine driver, of Kelty, Scotland. Has had various successes in trials and scrambles, and sand and short circuit road races since 1946, with a high light of finishing second to Denis Parkinson in the final of the 350 c.c. event at Kirkaldv last year. Machine, B.S.A. Gold Star.

Sadly died competing in the 1955 Junior MGP after a collision with L.F. Ivin's motorcycle (which was lying in the road after a previous accident) near the Gooseneck on the second lap of the race.

Hello Emma & Jude, just a minor point on the biography. L.F. Ivin had crashed just before the Gooseneck and his bike came to rest in the road and on the racing line. Next rider to arrive was James Davie who was unable to avoid the bike and was thrown from his AJS machine sustaining injuries from which he died in the ambulance taking him to Ramsey Cottage Hospital. - Paul Bradford Report this
