Biography: Age 35, Lawrence Edward Evans comes from Patricroft, Eccles, and is an engineer. He has been racing since 1954 and has had several wins in the 150 and 250 c.c.classes at Rhydymwyn, and places elsewhere. The 1958 T.T. was his first, but he has had considerable experience of the Mountain Course for he rode in the Junior Manx Grand Prix in 1955 and '56, collecting a couple of Finisher's Plaques, and in both Manx races in 1957. In 1958 he finished 17th in the lightweigh (250), but in the 1959 125 c.c. event he retired on the second lap. His luck was out again last year for he was forced to retire on the first lap of the Leightweight race.
