Biography: Age 40; a garage proprietor, of Cookridge, Oeeds. Has had successes in short circuit events at Altcar, Brough, Cadwell, Esholt, and Redcar. Rode an Excelsior in 1948 Lightweight Clubman’s and made fastest 250 practice lap. In the race, however, he retired at the Gooseneck on the second lap, after running third in the first. Machine, the 1939 Excelsior Manxman which he rode in the 1948 event.
