Record type: Motorsport Biographies
Biography: Mounts: Junior – B.S.A.
Senior – B.S.A.
Age 41, a motor cycle agent, dealer and repairer, of Denton, Nr. Manchester, Jack Fletcher has had experience of road, grass and sand racing dating back twenty years.
He rode in the Manx Grand Prix in the early ‘30’s but then gave up the game to take on certain important engineering executive positions.
He could not, however, resist the temptation to start again. In 1948 he gave up engineering and began dealing in motor cycles. Last year he returned to the T.T. course and won a second class replica in the Junior T.T., Finishing 50th on an A.J.S. at 74.81 m.p.h.
This year he hopes “to gain two silver replicas on standard B.S.A. machines, plus tuning.”
