Age 33, Owen Greenwood is a motor cycle engineer from Leicester. Originally a solo rider, he turned to sidecar racing a year or so ago and has done very well at the game.

His first ride in the Isle of Man was in the 1951 M.G.P., and he will be particularly remembered for is second place in the 1953 Junior Clubman’s race. In the 1954 Manx he rode a 350 c.c. A.J.S. in both races – and finished tenth on it in the Senior event, which is remarkably good riding. On the same machine he was 12th in the 1955 Junior Manx, but retired at Quarter Bridge in the first lap of the Senior.

At Cadwell, Easter 1956, he was second in the sidecar scratch race and winner of the handicap event; he followed that by winning the sidecar handicap at Brand’s Hatch, and collecting two third places at Snetterton.

He was a non-starter in the Sidecar T.T. last year.

He was a non-starter in the 1956 Sidecar TT, but in 1957 he was 50th in the Junior and 13th in the Sidecar, collecting a couple of Finisher's Awards. Since then he has won sidecar races at Kirkby Mallory and Cadwell Park. Last year he was 12th in the "Sidecar" with another Finisher's Award, and since then he has won Sidecar races at Brands Hatch, Cadwell Park and Kirkby Mallory.
