Biography: Mount: Lightweight – Keys Special
Age 38, Basil Keys comes from Worthing and is no newcomer to the T.T. course. He rode in the 1947 Lightweight Clubman's T.T., when after Bill McVeigh had been disqualified for having an oversize engine, he was awarded the race, only to be placed second again when McVeigh was eventually given the trophy. He has competed at many short circuit events with some success.
Hobby: Bird watching.
He is entered by Keys Bros., of Worthing. His machine has an A.J.S. frame with a converted Norton engine of 1936 manufacture, still boasting many of its original components.
