Age 33, a farmer and company director from Co. Kildare Eire. Ernie Lyons has had many successes on Triumphs since the end of the war, in Ireland and elsewhere, the most outstanding and the one which brought him full into the limelight being his victory in last year’s Senior Manx Grand Prix.
Now in the official Norton team, he has for mates his keenest rival in last year’s Manx, Kenneth Bills, Daniell the Senior lap record holder, and Artie Bell, his “opposite number” from Northern Ireland.
