R.J.G. Maw
Record type: Motorsport Biographies
Biography: Age 31, Roy Maw is a motor fitter from Middlesborough, Yorks. He did not ride in the Manx Grand Prix until 1956 but he was seen in the 1954 Clubman's race over the Clypse circuit. Other meetings in which he has taken part were at Croft, Cadwell Park, Silverstone, Esholt Park and Redcar; at Redcar in 1955, he was winner of the scratch event and made fastest lap in the handicap race. Roy has also competed in the Thruxton Nine Hours race. His mount for the 1956 Junior Manx was a 1954 BSA Gold Star - as it had been at Thruxton; he finished 57th in the race - not too high up, certainly, but not so bad for a first 'go'.
