Biography: Mount: Junior – Velocette
Age 39, a shopkeeper, of Hoylake, Cheshire. Has raced on various circuits in England and Ireland, and competed in the 1946 Lightweight “Manx,” finishing eleventh on a New Imperial. Rode the New Imperial again in the 1947 Lightweight M.G.P.; crashed early in the first lap but carried on, only to retire later.
Turned “international” in 1948 and rode the same New Imperial, equipped with home-built rear springing in the Lightweight T.T., but retired on the fourth lap with a broken valve. Last year he rode a Velocette in the Junior, finishing 59th (second-class replica) at 73.63 m.p.h.
