Age 34, occupation, motor engineer; comes from Petersfield Hampshire.

Guy Newman rode in the Manx Grand Prix of 1938, finishing eleventh in the Junior on a 348 c.c. Velocette, and sixth in the Senior on the same machine. He turned to the T.T. in 1939 and gained a silver replica in the Junior a bronze in the Senior, and the Newcomer’s Prize. In 1947 he rode a Velocette in the Junior, finishing seventh at 73.95 m.p.h., and a Norton in the Senior finishing fifth at 79.64 m.p.h., whilst in 1948 he finished fourteenth in the Junior T.T. on an A.J.S. at 75.49 m.p.h., but retired in the Senior in the first lap.

In 1949 he rode a Velocette in the Junior T.T. and a Norton in the Senior and won silver replicas in both races, finishing sixteenth in the Junior at 78.51 m.p.h. and 13th in the Senior at 80.8 m.p.h.

In the 1950 T.T. races he was 37th in the Junior at a speed of 76.87 m.p.h. on a Velocette, and 29th in the Senior at 79.84 m.p.h. on a Norton in spite of competing the last three laps with an inoperative clutch, which caused a spill at Governor’s Bridge. He gained second class replicas in both events.
