Biography: Age 29, J. F. Patrick is a motor engineer from Gretton, Northants. He has raced at numerous short circuits and was 250 c.c. record holder at Cadwell Park and Osmaston Manor. He competed in the 1957 350 c.c. Newcomers' Race and finished 21st at 77.21 m.p.h., qualifying for a ride in the next day's Junior Manx, in which he came home 43rd at 77.48. In 1958 he was 31st in the Junior Manx on a "Norton/Velocette," just missing a replica, and 41st in the Senior on the same machine, whilst in 1959 he was 50th in [sic].
Turning to the T.T. last year, he was 13th in the Lightweight race on his Velocette at 76.14 m.p.h., and on the same machine the following month won the 250 c.c. class of the Isle of Man Southern "100". (TT Special, 16 June 1961, p. 7)
