Age 24, John Porteous is an instrument maker and comes from Paisley, Scotland. This is his second season of racing, all of which up to date, has been done on Scottish short circuits. His machine was originally owned by J. M. Bowen, who rode it into eighth place in the 1953 Junior Manx. John fitted a 1956 DB engine into it last year. Hobbies: Collecting and listening to opera recordings and going to the theatre – when he has time!
