Biography: Age 26, James Rae is a motor mechanic and comes from Bonnybridge, Stirlingshire. He has had four seasons' racing experience on Scottish short circuits and in 1959 rode in the Junior Manx Grand Prix, finishing 25th on his Norton at 84.50 m.p.h. and winning a replica. Last year he turned to the T.T. and rode his Norton in the Junior retiring on the fifth lap. (TT Special, 16 June 1961, p.8.)
