Humphrey Ranson

Biography: Age 36, lecturer in electrical engineering, of Surbiton, Surrey, Humphrey Ranson raced at Brooklands, Donington and grass track meetings for several years before the war, but has only recently become engaged in road events. Since the war, he has competed at Brough, Cadwell, Abridge and in the Manx Grand Prix, mostly on an old Hartley Ariel, on which nearly all his racing experience was gained. Rode 350 and 500 c.c. Nortons in the T.T. last year, finishing twentieth in the Senior at 71.68 m.p.h., and winning a replica, after a crash in the Junior at Creg Willies. Also rode last year in the "Ulster" and at Cadwell, Dunholme, Shelsey Walsh etc., but was dogged with bad luck and had little success.
He is entered by E.T. Pink (Harrow) Ltd., and his machine is a new 7R A.J.S.
Hobbies: Keen on all sports, especially rowing.

Senior - Norton
Junior - Norton

Age 35, occupation, lecturer in radio engineering, home London, North, entered by E. T. Pink (Harrow) Ltd. for both events. Raced at Brooklands, Donnington and grass track meetings for several years before the war but has only recently become engaged in road events. Last year he competed at Brough, Cadwell, Abridge, Dunholme and in the Manx Grand Prix, mostly on an old Hartley Aerial, and states he has gained much valuable experience.

His Senior Norton is a new model, but his Junior machine is has he says “made up of parts to replace damaged and worn parts in a 1938 500 c.c. machine.” It was ridden by his brother (L.B.) in last year’s Junior and gained a replica.

Hobbies: “Motor-cycling first, last, and all the time.”
